My story

Elysium Jewellery Company was founded by Elise Whiteman in 2023; it is built from passion, expertise, and a desire to do good.

Our founder Elise has an eye for unique and vintage pieces, and is divided between her love for the finest, daintiest pieces, and the eccentric, maximalist pieces motivated by ever-evolving current fashion. Born into a Victorian era lineage once renowned for the lace craftmanship, Elise occasionally stumbled upon delicate heirlooms belonging to her grandparents, adorned with exquisite lace patterns and delicate threads. This ignited a fascination with vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces with a rich history that can be passed down through generations.

From a young age, Elise was also captivated by crystals, gemstones, fossils, and other treasures that came from our natural Earth. Her childhood consisted of an ever-growing collection of precious gems which she spent all of her finite pocket money on. She wanted to be an archaeologist for many years to prolong her passion.

As she matured, schoolwork and other interests took priority in her life and Elise’s gemstones collected dust on their shelves. After falling in love with the environment and wanting to pursue a science career,
Elise decided to box up her cherished gemstone trove. They would be in the garage as their final resting place, as not to remind Elise of her desires to become an archaeologist, but also not to be sold or quite forgotten.

“Nothing remains but desire, and desire comes howling down Elysian Fields like a mistral.” – Walker Percy

Of course, Elise’s passion for the timeless beauty of gemstones was too fervent, and she spontaneously birthed a radiant vision combining her sustainable lifestyle with tangible creations of the elements. Drawing inspiration from her family’s heritage, she embarked on a journey to create a line of jewellery that was created using pre-loved gemstones, beads, and recycled metals. Quickly, Elise’s creations became beautiful adornments, weaving together heritage, passion, and the vibrant gemstones she had so lovingly gathered in her youth.

Today, Elysium Jewellery Company stands as a testament to the fusion of tradition and modern innovation, a celebration of the past and future. Her collections are beaming with the echoes of traditional jewellery, and simultaneously the eccentric brilliance of modern trends.

In the future, Elise hopes to create consistent collections
with a unique narrative, and she hopes to donate the profits to a number of charities. With an already established career in sustainable food, Elise wants to use this creative outlet to enchant, inspire, and do good, as well as create long-lasting and durable pieces that can be passed through the generations.
